MAISON TILA

Is your company eco-responsible?

Our company is "ECOVADIS COMMITED" , which means that we are audited once a year on all CSR aspects (Environment , Eco-responsible Purchasing, Ethics & Human and Labor Rights) by independent experts. These audits enable us to guarantee compliance with working conditions (working hours, remuneration, health, safetý, etc.) and it goes without saying, the strictest ban on child labor, forced or clandestine labor. We have a zero-tolerance policy regarding such practices.

We also encourage donations, and regularly donate parts to charitable associations.

Can a 100% sustainable brand really exist?

It all depends on what we mean by "sustainable" and what we put behind it: water and soil pollution, CO2 emissions, use of natural resources... In reality, there is no single solution that addresses all these issues. Production of any kind has an impact on the planet. Our mission is to find the best possible compromise.

Why do you produce part of your collections in China?

China has developed one of the most modern industries in the world. Of course, the workshops that make up this industry are heterogeneous. Some are extremely modern, others more distant from European standards. In China, as elsewhere, we regularly audit and control our suppliers to ensure that working conditions and the quality of our products are respected.
Chinese ceramics, best known for the porcelain the Chinese invented, has a long tradition of technical and stylistic innovation.
The first pottery in China (as far as we know) appeared in the south, in Hunan, among Paleolithic hunter-gatherer populations, around 12,000 BC.
The general term "ceramics" encompasses objects that differ significantly from one another in the composition of their body (terracotta, stoneware, porcelain), the way this body is covered (glazes, glaze, enamels), and the way they are fired (temperature, oxidation or reduction firing, etc.).
Logically, this has led to the development of a number of industry sectors in the country. For all these reasons, MAISON TILA makes its products in China whenever this is the best alternative in terms of quality and respect for working conditions. China, like other countries with more recent industrial development, also offers us high levels of technical expertise, enabling us to comply with the strictest European standards.
